Street Pulse is a nonprofit organization that works to identify and address homelessness and social issues by empowering marginalized voices and providing direct, concrete avenues through which homeless and low-income individuals can help themselves. Street Pulse promotes communication and awareness throughout the Madison community.

Street Pulse held its elections during the Sunday meeting on 3 May. We filled all but one position with talented volunteers. In the interest of transparency, all elected positions are listed in last night's minutes. Full descriptions of every Street Pulse volunteer position can be found in our organization's constitution, which was officially voted on and approved by a quorum of volunteers in May.

Street Pulse has New Volunteer Information meetings each Sunday at 6 PM in the Wisconsin Union. There, we welcome new volunteers and describe what Street Pulse and homeless newspapers are all about. Meet the people who keep Street Pulse alive and learn about ways you can become involved. If you are an activist, writer, photographer, graphic designer, event planner - or have other talents and are interested in helping to amplify the voices of marginalized people in the poor community - we encourage your participation!
Check "Today in the Union" listings in the front lobby each Sunday to find out which room we'll be in. Of course, you can always check the online schedule, too. Please explore our brand-new site and let us know what you think.
We now have an official blog, where we will discuss interesting news stories and link to articles concerning news in the homeless community.
Minutes from all our meetings (March 2009 onward) are here.
Inside Voices is an online album put together by Glenn H. Austin of Madison, Wisconsin. His powerful photos speak volumes about the condition of the homeless in the area. Check it out.
In this economic situation, homelessness poses an immediate threat to millions of Americans. Here are some of the latest facts that motivate Street Pulse volunteers to do all the work they do.
Thanks to everyone who participated in our annual fundraising event!
